Watch and Win: Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Glorious Unfolding”

Steven Curtis Chapman in "Glorious Unfolding"

As we’ve been sharing with you for the past week, our friend Steven Curtis Chapman has released a powerful new song – “Glorious Unfolding”!

If you haven’t heard it yet (or seen the accompanying video), I’d encourage you to take a moment right now to enjoy it. I believe you’ll be moved as you pause and consider the larger story God is telling through your life.

Steven based his lyrics on Jeremiah 29:11: “‘I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to give you hope and a future.’”

At times, God’s story will lift us to glorious mountaintops. Other chapters will find us walking through valleys that are deep and dark. But we can have faith that God is working in and through it all to finish His good work in us.

If you’re familiar with Steven Curtis Chapman’s story, you’ll understand why that is such a personal theme for him to convey through his music. Here’s what he had to say about his inspiration for the song:

The idea of God’s unfolding story was the overarching theme as I started thinking about this season of life. I thought, “How can I share that message in an encouraging way with others that listen to my music and know my story?”

God seemed to be saying, “Will you trust me to write my story with your life even if it means there are hard chapters? Will you trust me with those hard chapters and will you trust that at the end of this story you’re going to be amazed?”

Now, you have a chance to hear Steven share his heart in person. We’re in the midst of a contest, and the winner will have the opportunity to meet Steven Curtis Chapman!

To enter, just visit, and tell us, “If you could travel one place with your dad, where would you go and why?” The grand prize is two tickets to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert in a city of the winner’s choice along with meet-and-greet passes. (You must be over 18 to enter.)

But hurry! The contest ends tomorrow, Thursday, August 7th.

I don't see where to enter? It says the contest ends today --- at close of business? Or is it closed as of now?

I cried at the end of the video. I lost my dad 29 years ago. I've been struggling with things in my life lately, because I've already been through so much. Just yesterday I took a walk and was praying to God and trying to believe Jeremiah 29:11 will come to pass in my life.

Make's one long for our Saviour's return. We all have loved ones we long to see again one day. What a glorious day that will be.

I don't have a facebook account, so I hope this gets through.  Steven Curtis Chapman has long been one of my favorite artists, but when I have heard this song on the radio, I have not been terribly impressed.  Seeing this video changed that dramatically.  My parents both passed about 30 years ago, but there are times when I miss them a lot.  The video reminded me of how wonderful it will be when we are all with Jesus.  Thank you.
