Helping Your Marriage Survive the Coronavirus

Married couple

We’re several weeks into the coronavirus outbreak, and by now you’ve memorized a dozen methods for keeping your body’s immune system strong.

But what are you doing to keep your marriage strong?

When we’re stressed, we strike out at the people closest to us, namely our spouse and children. That’s especially true when you’re cooped up together under quarantine. Good marriages can be strained, and bad marriages can be stressed to their breaking point.

A couple’s differences can either serve as triggers for conflict or as points of tension that can strengthen the relationship. I encourage couples to focus on the blessing in their circumstances rather than the barriers.

How do you do that?

Our guests on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Helping Your Marriage Survive the Coronavirus,” Guy and Amber Lia, say that there is nothing anger can do that love can’t do better.

They’re joining us remotely to offer practical suggestions for treasuring each other while our lives are so out of the norm.

Join us on your local radio station, online, on Apple Podcasts, via Google Podcasts, or on our free phone app. We’ll help you build a marriage that is fulfilling and Christ centered.

Guy and Amber are sharing thoughts from their book Marriage Triggers Exchanging Spouses’ Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses. We’ll send you a copy for a gift of any amount. Visit our website for more information.

And while you’re online, why not take a few moments to try our free Marriage Assessment online tool? It will help you quickly determine what’s working well in your relationship and identify areas where you may need some improvement.

We also have caring Christian counselors available, and it would be their privilege to offer you a free consultation. Call us, leave your name and number, and they’ll get back with you just as soon as possible. The number during business hours is 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459).
