It’s a viral video with a local angle for those of us here at Focus on the Family.
The United Parcel Service (UPS) released “Driver for a Day” on Dec. 1, and the heartwarming story of driver Mr. Ernie and a 4-year-old boy named Carson has already been viewed more than 2.4 million times.
Little Carson, who lives in Colorado Springs, is so excited about the packages that arrive to his house that Mr. Ernie decided to make a special delivery just for him.

What a great reminder for us to nurture the imagination of children. But more than that, it also reminds me that, no matter what occupation we’re in, we can take steps to encourage, give and bless others.
Who knows what chain of events we can unleash with a single good act? It might take some effort. It will take some time. But it’ll be some of the best time you spend all day.
The famous English preacher Charles Spurgeon once encouraged his flock to “Carve your name on hearts not on marble.”
It’s good advice.
I challenge you to do something unexpected for someone else. You don’t have to be a UPS driver to deliver goodwill. Write a note. Make a phone call. Pay for someone’s lunch. And in the process, you’ll not only be blessing the other person, but you, too, will be lifted up in spirit.
