COVID policies: Stop treating children as political pawns

As America prepares to enter its third year of the COVID-19 global pandemic, an irrefutable and heartbreaking consensus is finally beginning to coalesce across social, economic, and even political classes:

Children who are being isolated in their homes or clothed behind masks despite being at the least possible risk across all demographics, have borne the greatest burden psychologically, emotionally, and educationally for the onerous and ill-conceived virus-related restrictions that continue to threaten our rising generation.

The explosion of the Omicron variant threatens to cause school and political officials to repeat the very same mistakes that sent our children into a downward spiral beginning in March of 2020.

Building Racial Harmony in Our Communities

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we want to share with you a powerful message about building racial harmony in our communities by my dear friend and brother in Christ, Carey Casey.

Carey was part of the real-life story captured in Remember the Titans starring Denzel Washington. The movie is about an African-American high school football coach who overcame significant challenges after being hired to coach the school’s first racially integrated team. The Titans overcame tremendous adversity, worked through their racial differences, and won the state championship.

Focus on the Family President Jim Daly Hails Supreme Court Decision Blocking Mandate for Large Employers

Today’s decision blocking the Biden administration’s sweeping mandate is a victory for freedom and a resounding defeat of egregious and intrusive government overreach. No administration or federal agency should be permitted to force employers and employees to violate their deeply held convictions or burden them with onerous and intrusive unconstitutional edicts. We applaud the Supreme Court’s principled ruling and all indications suggest this stay will be permanent. As we approach the two-year anniversary of the COVID-19 scourge, we pray for an end to this awful global pandemic and ask God to have mercy on a world weary and eager for a return to normalcy.

The Radical Left Wants to Decide Who Lives and Who Dies

If it feels like those who champion abortion rights and unfettered access to ending the lives of innocent children in the womb are growing more extreme, consider as evidence an opinion piece published in last week’s New York Times.

Elizabeth Spiers is a Democrat strategist – and a radical abortion activist. In the article, Ms. Spiers actually suggested that adoption is more “dangerous” than abortion.

Let that sink in.

Killing trumps living.

To bolster her wildly reckless assertion, the writer goes on to explain that she was adopted and that her biological mother “remains heartbroken about the years we missed together.”

In a curious and downright perplexing twist, Ms.

The Beginning of the End of Abortion in America

The sun has set on the Supreme Court this December afternoon marking the end of a remarkable, historic and encouraging day for all of us who champion and support the sanctity of life.

It’s likely we won’t know for sure until later this spring, but a majority of the justices appeared sympathetic to Mississippi’s right to limit abortion to 15 weeks’ gestation.

In fact, after nearly 50 years of abortion on demand, we’re looking at the very real possibility that the High Court may well decide to get out of the abortion business entirely, leaving the issue up to the democratic process.

Several conservative justices strongly challenged the wrong-headed argument of the abortion industry that the court should follow “precedent” in this case, even if the justices think Roe was wrongly decided.

“If we think that the prior precedents are seriously wrong … why then doesn’t the history of this court’s practice with respect to those cases tell us that the right answer is to return to the position of neutrality?” asked Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“Precedent” was a major theme and one that liberals and pro-abortion activists love to talk about – that is until they find a Supreme Court precedent they don’t like and want overturned.

Just because a case has been wrongly decided for many years is no reason to keep upholding bad law.

It is Time to Right an Historic and Evil Wrong

It is time.

In fact, it’s way past time.

For nearly a half-century, abortion on demand has been legal in all fifty states leading to the tragic holocaust of over 60 million innocent babies.

It is time to right an historically devastating and evil wrong and overturn the fatally flawed Roe decision from 1973.

I’m in Washington, D.C., and will be closely following today’s hearing of the Mississippi Dobbs case inside the Supreme Court. Due to the pandemic, the courtroom will be closed to spectators, but the audio of the proceedings will be available in real time.

Going All Out for Your Wife

Men, we’re at war.

Most guys probably don’t think about their roles as husbands or fathers in those terms very often. That could be why so many men succumb to the dangers of pornography and adulterous affairs. They seem oblivious to how the enemy of their soul uses those temptations to ruthlessly plot their destruction.

That’s why author and speaker Dr. Steve Farrar specifically compares a man’s role in his home to point men in military conflict.

Hope for the Anxious

On a scale of one to ten – ten being the worst – how anxious do you feel? Six? Seven? Are you ever in the eight to nine range?

Anxiety is rampant in our culture and in our homes. Anxiety is about the scary “what ifs?” in life. What if our children don’t make good decisions? What if the economy negatively impacts our jobs? We dream up horrible scenarios about everything that could happen and rehearse them over and over again in our minds.

Election ’21 Confirms – Mothers and Fathers Matter

Don’t mess with moms and dads – that’s the prevailing takeaway coming out of yesterday’s two major electoral races, especially in the state of Virginia.

Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin’s victory over former Governor Terry McAuliffe culminated a bruising campaign, with much of it focused on a rising backlash against the “woke” policies of the radical left.

At the current time, New Jersey’s gubernatorial race remains too close to call.

Pundits suggest the turning point of the race in Virginia came when Mr.

As Supreme Court Hears Texas Abortion Case, Texas Governor Greg Abbott Joins Focus on the Family Radio Program

All eyes will be on the Supreme Court today as the nine justices hear arguments in the highly anticipated six-week “heartbeat bill” case, Whole Women’s Health v. Jackson and United States v. Texas.

Given the magnitude of the moment and the fact that the state of Texas has been in the middle of not only this case but other pressing national issues, we decided to invite the Lone Star state governor, Greg Abbott, onto the program today.

Governor Abbott has been married to his wife, Cecilia, for 40 years and the chief executive of Texas since 2014.
