The pro-life issue is close to my heart. And defending pre-born babies is a huge part of what we do at Focus on the Family. Few people are more vulnerable than pre-born children and women facing unplanned pregnancies.
And few people have a greater passion to protect the vulnerable than Kristan Hawkins. She’s the head of Students for Life, a pro-life organization working primarily on college campuses. She also does nationwide interviews on the topic of abortion.
She is with us on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Changing Minds to Save the Pre-Born” to share insights about how to protect women and their pre-born children from abortion.
At age fifteen, Kristan volunteered at a pregnancy center. The center gave her the opportunity to counsel women who were in a crisis pregnancy. The realities of the abortion procedure itself horrified her. She also discovered that women who received abortions were more likely to remain stuck in poverty and other difficult circumstances.
Abortion doesn’t rescue women from injustice; it perpetuates it. Kristan shares:
- How to change the minds of pro-choice people.
- How to deal with criticism and controversy.
- The lies feminists tell.
- The danger of chemical abortion pills.
- The dehumanization of abortion.

I also want you to know that Focus on the Family is hosting a pro-life event called SeeLife 24. Focus is combining the convenience of an online experience with the power of an in-person live event. This engaging pro-life initiative will take place live and via simulcast from Focus on the Family’s Colorado Springs campus on Saturday, June 15th. For more details or to host this event, click here.
Before I close, one of the best things you can do to support life is to participate in our Option Ultrasound program. Abortion clinics are interested in abortion. Pregnancy resource centers are interested in the woman, the man, the baby, and the family. They minister to everyone involved.
Focus supports these centers through our Option Ultrasound program, which provides grants for sonogram training and technology. To date, more than 800 ultrasound machines have been placed around the country, and more than 500,000 babies have been saved.
We’re working hard to raise that number to one million babies saved sometime in the near future. With that in mind, I’d like to extend an invitation for you to become a special partner with us through our monthly “Friends of Focus on the Family” program. What’s amazing is that it only takes $60 to save a baby’s life by providing ultrasound machines and additional resources. Click here for more information.

Thank you for touching others with the love of Christ.
