On our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Finding Your Identity in Jesus Christ,” Susie Larson says, “I believe the enemy sees your potential long before you do. How did he come against you in your childhood? His threat to you is connected to your threat to him. But when we live in response to God’ love, it changes everything. It empowers us to stand strong and be who God always intended us to be.”
When Susie was 9, she was attacked by her brother’s friends. From that moment forward, she was confused about who she was. A canyon of insecurity had opened up in her life and filled her with self-loathing, fear, and anxiety.
In time, she came to understand that she came from God and will someday return to Him. She also discovered that God is not too small for big things and not too big for small things. In following a risen Savior, she could dare to ask God to do the amazing and impossible things in and through her. He would ask her to serve Him in ways that may seem small and diminished but without it ever diminishing her.
