One single vote.
What difference can it really make? Not much, some would say.
If that’s how you’re feeling on the eve of tomorrow’s election, you’ve probably never heard the story of Jamison Shoemaker, whose one vote set in motion a chain reaction of political moments that altered the course of our nation’s history.
I won’t spoil the story for you here because I want to invite you to have some fun with us on a special edition of our broadcast today. We’re airing an episode of Adventures in Odyssey called “A Single Vote” that brings the story of Jamison Shoemaker to life.
If you’re new to Focus on the Family, Adventures in Odyssey is a radio drama for children (check out our website for more information). Jean and I raised our boys on these high-quality programs. They present great moral lessons about family and faith in entertaining ways.
Today’s show is a great example of that. It’ll teach your children about the difference they can make in the world if they’ll make their voices heard. Mom and Dad, I think you’ll learn something right along with them.
I hope you’re praying about tomorrow’s election and that you’ll exercise your right to vote. We Christians have more influence than we often realize. And if we’re willing to use what we’ve been given for God’s glory, and trust Him for the results, amazing things can happen … in His way and timing!
I hope your whole family will tune in on your local radio station, online, or download our free phone app.
