This summer, as we have seen seven videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of organs from preborn babies for possible profit, we’ve talked a lot about the evil of abortion on the blog. Today I want to share with you something you can do to shine a light on this darkness, and to stand for life in a positive way.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 22, several pro-life groups are sponsoring a National Day of Protest at Planned Parenthood facilities around the nation to raise awareness of what’s going on behind closed doors. Christian leaders like Eric Mextaxas are encouraging pro-lifers to attend. John Piper will be at his local protest. You can easily find out what local protests are closed to you at www.protestpp.com.
Also, you can join me at the Evangelicals for Life conference (#EFL2016) taking place in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the March for Life event on Jan. 21 and 22, 2016. I am pleased to be speaking at this wonderful event Focus on the Family is co-hosting with The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. Other speakers include Dr. Russell Moore, our own Kelly Rosati, Eric Metaxas, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and Charmaine Yoest. If you can’t attend in person, the event will be available to churches for free livestreaming via simulcast.
In the meanwhile, please continue to live out the four things pro-life Christians can do to help stop the evils occurring at Planned Parenthood:
- Contact your lawmakers and ask them to defund state and federal dollars going to the abortion giant.
- Overcome the media’s reluctance to address the topic by sharing the videos and news on social media.
- Help pro-life groups and causes, including your community pro-life pregnancy resource center.
- Pray the men and women who work in the abortion industry will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and stand for life.
