I recently had the opportunity to have lunch with Kirk Cameron. He’s a good friend to Focus and he’s currently promoting his new movie event, Kirk Cameron: CONNECT.
Those of you of a certain age will remember Kirk as the teen star of the Growing Pains TV series in the 1980s. More recently, he has starred in a number of successful faith-based films, including Left Behind and Fireproof.
CONNECT addresses a subject that is very important to all of us here at Focus, and if you’re a parent, it’s probably important to you as well. The film explores the world of social media and its impact, for good and ill, on teens and families. It asks, “How can this generation of parents blaze a new trail to equip their kids to thrive in an ever-changing digital environment while steering clear of the dangers that lurk nearby?“
Kirk and his lovely wife, Chelsea, have six teenagers of their own, so they understand the challenges parents face in this arena. The film includes interviews with experts from a wide range of disciplines, including neurosurgeon Dr. Ian Armstrong and Celebrate Kids founder Dr. Kathy Koch, along with other parenting experts and faith leaders.
Kirk Cameron: CONNECT screens exclusively in movie theaters nationwide for two nights only on Tuesday, February 27 and Thursday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. local time. For tickets and other information, visit FathomEvents.com.
As you might recall, Focus partnered with Fathom to release several film projects in recent years, including Irreplaceable, The Drop Box, and Mully. Screenings for these films typically sold out well in advance, so don’t delay.
The challenges of social media are too significant for your family to ignore. Buy your tickets for Kirk Cameron: CONNECT now!
