Becoming a Messenger for Life

We live in a culture of contradictions.

When it comes to issues of race and sexual orientation, society shouts the virtues of human dignity from the rooftops. But when it comes to preborn babies, the terminally ill, or the severely disabled, society’s tone changes. Suddenly, ideas like “choice” and “quality of life” trump human dignity.

The Bible says we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). We all have tremendous worth and value to God from the moment of conception to natural death.

Joni Eareckson Tada is one of my heroes on the issue of the sacredness of human life. At 17, she dove into shallow water and surfaced a paraplegic. Despite the hardships she’s faced, she has faithfully followed Jesus Christ, been a powerful voice in the pro-life community, and has used her life story to encourage others with disabilities similar to hers for nearly five decades.

On our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Becoming a Messenger for Life,” we’re sharing a powerful conversation we recorded with a live audience with Joni in Anaheim, California. Our evening with Joni was a moving and inspiring experience for everyone in the crowd – not only because of Joni’s words, but because of her legacy of faithfulness to the Lord and her willingness to speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves.

Hear the program on your local radio station, online, on Apple Podcasts, via Google Podcasts, or take us with you on our free phone app. Joni Eareckson Tada shares a powerful pro-life message about protecting preborn babies, the elderly, and those with special needs.

Be inspired to stand up for all human life designed in the image of God. As believers in Christ, we have a responsibility to protect life.

Joni is one of several key Christian leaders who are helping us bring national attention to the pro-life cause and message that human life, from conception to our final breath, is valuable, sacred, and worthy of our protection.

That’s why last May, Focus on the Family hosted the largest pro-life celebration in the history of New York City’s Times Square, where we clearly revealed for the whole world to see that a baby is baby, whether inside or outside the womb.

We’re expanding this celebration with a nationwide pro-life event Focus on the Family is hosting called ALIVE 2020 on May 9th. These live events will feature musicians, special guest speakers, and live ultrasounds of third-trimester babies broadcast on massive digital screens. I hope you’ll join us in one of five locations for this powerful visual testimony to the sanctity of human life. Visit our website for information.

And if you haven’t supported Focus before, why not support us now with a pledge that will save a baby’s life? It’s one of the best investments you can make in the kingdom of God. To make your pledge, or for more information, visit our website or call 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459). As our way of saying thank you, we’ll send a copy of Joni’s book Joni: An Unforgettable Story.

Thank you for touching others with the love of Christ.
