I’m on the road today, but wanted to take a minute and share an important piece in National Review by Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse and pro-life activist Jill Stanek.
“Abortion Survivors Deserve Our Care” went live on National Review’s website yesterday and it’s already a top trending news story on Facebook – and I’m glad it is.
The piece highlights the horrors faced by babies who survive abortion attempts. In short: they are left to die alone, without medical care. As Sasse and Stanek write,
“Our national debate about abortion will be heated but, whenever possible, we should look for consensus. On this basic reality we must agree: No child should end her life cold and alone, struggling for her last breath inside an abortion clinic.”
I would hope that, Left or Right, pro-life or in favor of abortion, we could agree on this. And as such, we should all unite around the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
As the piece explains,
“With the help of medical professionals, babies 25 weeks into pregnancy have ever-increasing odds of living healthy, fruitful lives. This legislation would simply ensure that a newborn who survives an abortion gets her chance by making sure that she receives the same medical attention that would be offered to any other premature baby at the same age.”
Let’s work together to see that this deserving bill passes in the Senate. Help spread the word, and let your U.S. senators know you support the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
