Focus on the Family has been unashamedly pro-life since our inception 44 years ago. The affirmation of human life is one of our foundational principles, and I pray that however long the Lord allows our organization to exist, it will remain so.
Each of us as individuals has an important part to play as well. It’s not enough to vote for pro-life candidates and ballot initiatives and then wish women with unplanned pregnancies, “Good luck.” We have to be ready physically, spiritually, and emotionally to walk alongside women in need.
Many people want to help on a practical level, but they don’t know how. To fill in those blanks, we’ve invited Amy Ford, the founder and president of Embrace Grace ministries, to be our guest on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “How You Can Join the Pro-Life Movement.”

Before I close, one of the best things you can do to support life is to participate in our Option Ultrasound program. Abortion clinics are interested in abortion. Pregnancy resource centers are interested in the woman, the man, the baby, the family. They minister to everyone involved.
Focus supports these centers through our Option Ultrasound program, which provides grants for sonogram training and technology. To date, more than 800 ultrasound machines have been placed around the country, and nearly 460,000 babies have been saved.
We’re working hard to raise that number to one million babies saved sometime in the near future. With that in mind, I’d like to extend an invitation for you to become a special partner with us through our monthly “Friends of Focus on the Family” program. -Abortion kills, it stops a beating heart. Not only that, it also hurts both women and men. God cares, not only about the babies and their mothers, but also about the fathers of the babies. If God cares, so should we who are His children.
