I want to briefly share something exciting with you.
Each day, a team member here at Focus on the Family compiles what we internally refer to as a “Response Report” regarding the daily radio broadcast. Our phone representatives talk with thousands of listeners per day, and they record what people are thinking and saying about the day’s radio program. Some of the callers are blunt and don’t hesitate to criticize the program; still others might praise the very same one.
We track and read all the comments, and I am grateful for the feedback.
After all, as Scripture (Proverbs 27:17) clearly states, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the other.”
I just read one today that has put a spring in my step. I have changed the name to protect the privacy of the caller :
Mrs. Maxwell has secretly had her bags packed and tucked away in her home waiting for the right time to leave her marriage of 32 years. Her husband is a truck driver, and he called her today and told her to listen to Focus on the Family. He said that, as he was listening to Kirk Cameron speak, he realized that the message was describing HIM. He said that the Lord touched his heart through our broadcast. He admitted that he has been serving everyone else in his life except his wife. Mrs. Maxwell said that she could feel a change in her husband as he was talking to her, and that she had been praying for this for a long time now. She wanted to let us know that lives are being changed through Focus on the Family.
In a word: Wow! This is the kind of practical ministry that our faithful and generous supporters make possible. What a privilege to play a role and be a part of it. I hope you’ll tell your friends and family about our daily radio program, as well as the dozens of other outreaches within Focus that are dedicated to helping families thrive around the world.
