Young people in America and Europe are leaving the Christian church at an unprecedented rate. Statistically, this generation is the least religious in history. Teenagers, in particular, are turning toward atheism at a rate double that of the general population.
Many struggle to believe claims made by the Bible. Or to reconcile faith in a loving God with evil and suffering in the world. Some cite bad experiences with a church or conflict with a Christian as their reason for doubt. This generation is seeking to make sense of their world, but they’re drifting right along with our culture further and further from truth.
Those of us who represent Christianity today must provide satisfactory answers to what are usually reasonable objections that deserve a reasonable response.
We’re discussing how the Christian community and loving parents can make a strong case for the truth of the Bible and the good news of Jesus on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Reaching the Next Generation for Christ.”
Here to help you understand how to provide compelling answers to questions about the Christian faith is J. Warner Wallace, an award-winning cold-case homicide detective, a Senior Fellow at the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, and an adjunct professor of apologetics at Biola University.
But before all of that, he was an angry atheist, a skeptic who mocked Christians and the Christian worldview. That all changed the day a pastor challenged him to consider whether Jesus’ claims to be the Son of God were true. Over the next several months, Wallace applied his investigative skills toward determining the validity of the New Testament – specifically accounts of the resurrection and the Gospel. What he discovered transformed his life.
