Karen Wingate was legally blind from infancy. As a child, she endured eight surgeries that only marginally improved her vision – from blind to blurry. As an adult, she prayed earnestly for God to perform a miracle. Nothing happened.
At age 55, Karen consulted with her retina specialist and discovered that her eyesight had further deteriorated to the point that surgery was needed. She was greatly discouraged until, during the procedure, the doctor said, “Mrs. Wingate, I believe I can guarantee your vision will be better than it’s ever been before.” Finally, she got her miracle.
Karen’s vision in one eye improved to a quality she had never experienced before. She now documents her observations about the world around her and teaches others to see and appreciate something new in the world every day.
How can we see God’s creation as if our vision has been restored for the first time? Karen says:
- See what God wants you to see. Appreciate the gifts God has given you.
- See who God wants you to see. God has a plan for you and the people He wants you to encounter each day.
- What if God never heals you? Karen addresses the question, “If God never heals me, is He still good?”
