First Thessalonians 5:16-18 tells us, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
As Christians, we desire to connect with Jesus as our source of contentment and joy. But life gets in the way. We get busy raising children, tending to our marriages, or building our careers. We get distracted by technology, endless entertainment on social media, or circumstances that overwhelm us. The result? We drift.
How do we learn to stay connected with God moment by moment throughout life’s daily grind?
Pastor and author John Burke has not only disciplined himself to do it, he’s developed what he calls the “60-60 Experiment” to help people inside and outside of his church stay in continuous conversation with God for 60 days. He describes its potential for transformation as a “soul revolution.”
John Burke is joining me on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly to give a clear picture of how we can experience moment-by-moment connection with God by:
• Reorienting
• Reconnecting
• Responding
Like branches connected to the Vine, John’s 60-60 Experiment can help God’s peace and love overflow into our prayer life, our relationships, and everything we do in a way that fulfills our deepest longings and transforms us into life-giving people.
