Did you know:
- 55% of married Christian men look at porn monthly.
- 1 in 10 view porn daily.
- 71% of those who view 7+ hours of porn weekly report some kind of sexual dysfunction.
- More than half (56%) of divorce cases involve a spouse having an obsession with pornographic websites.
Mark and Rosie Makinney’s family was nearly destroyed by the poison of pornography. They now help other couples discover the good news that God can heal, restore, and redeem anyone who turns to Him for help.
Rosie is founder of Fight For Love Ministries, which empowers and equips women with the faith and facts to fight against porn addiction, its effects upon them and their spouses, and upon their families. Mark is a pastoral care provider and ordained minister.
They say that pornography addiction alters a user’s brain chemistry. Many men roll their eyes at that and argue back, “My brain functions fine. I’m a professional. I use my brain every day.”
Relationally, however, these men are compromised, and they don’t even recognize it. Their brains are not working as they should. They don’t see the gravity of the situation or the depth of the damage that they’re doing.
Pornography creates a higher sex drive but weakens the user’s ability to be aroused or to connect with a real person. Even limited use negatively impacts a couple’s capacity for affection and intimacy.
Mark and Rosie are with us on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Your Marriage Can Win the Battle Against Pornography” to share:
- Their journey through porn addiction and recovery.
- Common myths about porn addiction.
- Red flags of a porn addiction.
- Steps to recovery.
- The power of truth and transparency.
- Why accountability is essential.
- Practical help about the recovery process.
