Anyone who’s familiar with Ray Vander Laan appreciates his gift for teaching. For over 40 years, he has empowered others to see the story behind the story in Scripture.
Ray has partnered with Focus on the Family for 30 years on the popular video series That the World May Know. He’s also been a religion instructor at Holland Christian Schools in Holland, Michigan for more than 40 years.
Ray is amazing at uncovering the mysteries of ancient Jewish culture and putting the Bible in its proper context. Jean and I have had the privilege of learning from Ray firsthand, traveling with him to the Middle East to hear him teach on location.
I’m excited to announce Ray’s latest project: RVL Discipleship™ The Study, a digital series, available exclusively through Focus on the Family.
RVL Discipleship: The Study is a four season series of short episodes, each roughly 15 minutes. Each season consists of 10 episodes. Ray’s primary message with RVL Discipleship is to bring shalom to chaos right where you are, as a disciple of Christ.
On Focus on the Family with Jim Daly, I’m talking with Ray Vander Laan about discovering God’s purpose for our lives and developing a passion for evangelism and discipleship.
Ray’s advice is to “become the message.” Discipleship isn’t just about believing in Jesus. It’s about becoming the kind of person whose belief in Jesus shows up in his or her character. We’ve not only been entrusted to bring the message but to become the message.
