In John 10:10, Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”
In December of 2012, five days before Christmas, Pastor Levi Lusko was confronted by the horrible truth of that verse when his five-year-old daughter Lenya died after a severe asthma attack. Since then, Levi has wrestled through questions and doubts that arise in painful moments.
He has concluded that the devil, the enemy of your soul, wants to rob you of every good thing associated with your life in Christ. But he has also concluded that there’s a reality that’s greater than our suffering. That hope is found in the second half of John 10:10 in which Jesus says, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
While God is love, we misunderstand our relationship with Him when we expect our lives to be free of suffering. The Lord’s peace isn’t found in predictable comfort, but in an ever-deepening relationship with Christ.
How do we overcome the things that hold us back from living the life that God wants for us?
Levi answers that question on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “How Godly Thinking Can Transform Your Life.” He’s sharing how to conquer worry, fear, and anxiety to experience spiritual growth and freedom in Christ in the midst of life’s storms.
