For couples to have a strong marriage, they have to spend time together. But that can be tough when life is so busy. One of the ways to solve that problem is to maximize everyday moments. How? Instead of waiting for the perfect circumstances to come along, take advantage of key moments that already happen every day.
The first is when you say goodbye in the morning. On a typical day, one or both of you will likely leave the house. How you say goodbye can strengthen your marriage. The key is to give your spouse a kiss. But not just a quick peck on the cheek. Make it a long, meaningful one.
In the same way, think about how you greet your spouse at the end of the day. Maximize this moment with attention and affection. Meet your spouse at the door. Or at least greet one another soon after and let each other know that you’re glad you’re together again.
Finally, instead of saying good night and immediately falling asleep, offer some positive affirmation or express gratitude for something your spouse did that day. Say thank you for dinner or mention how grateful you are for all they do for the family.
The beauty of these ideas is that you’re not adding anything new to your already full plate. You’re simply taking advantage of everyday moments that are already there.
