The list of faith leaders endorsing “The Drop Box,” Focus on the Family’s second movie, is long and diverse.
Those who are enthusiastically throwing their support behind the film include both evangelical and Catholic. They’re known for advocating on behalf of the pre-born. They are proponents of adoption, special needs, and social justice.
It’s rare for a documentary to receive endorsements from such a wide array of sectors.
To us, it’s a confirmation that God’s in this movie.
It’s a testament to how broad the appeal of this movie is thanks to its themes of love and sacrifice.
“The Drop Box” tells the story of South Korea’s Pastor Lee Jong-rak, who rescues babies who might otherwise be abandoned. He does this through a baby box he built into the wall of his church where desperate moms can safely deposit their children.
To date, Pastor Lee has helped more than 600 babies, many of whom have developmental or physical disabilities.
It’s a film that celebrates the sanctity of life.
Here’s what leaders have to say about the award-winning film:
“The story of Pastor Lee and his love for ‘discarded’ children – especially children with disabilities displays the power and influence of true Christian character. I highly recommend this wonderful movie!” — Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability Center

— Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President, NHCLC, Hispanic Evangelical Association

“Watching ‘The Drop Box’ could change the path of your life, for the better.”
—Dr. Russell D. Moore, President, Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission

We’re thankful to these leaders and organizations for their support of “The Drop Box.”
We’re excited about the lives we know will be impacted by this film.
We know of one person who will never be the same because of “The Drop Box” – the movie’s director, Brian Ivie.
He came to faith in Jesus Christ while working on this film.
“Making this movie literally changed my life,” Ivie has said. “Pastor Lee changed everything because he showed me what God’s love is really like. God’s love is gritty and messy and goes to the gutters for the broken and lost people.”
I believe “The Drop Box” is a documentary you won’t want to miss. We’ll be presenting it at select cinemas nationwide on March 3, 4 and 5, 2015. The special event will include an exclusive panel discussion featuring Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife, President of Show Hope, Mary Beth; Brian Ivie, Kelly Rosati, Focus’ vice president of community outreach, and myself.
You can purchase individual and group tickets now at www.thedropboxfilm.com. We’re already seeing some theaters selling out, so you might want to consider making plans with your family, friends, or church group now.
And please pray for the team here at Focus as we put our efforts into high gear in these last few weeks leading up to the film’s debut – pray God will use this movie to showcase His love, and that viewers will be inspired to be His hands and feet!
