It’s an honor to welcome Secretary of State Mike Pompeo back to our radio program for a few minutes at the top of today’s broadcast.
An Army veteran and former director of the CIA, Mr. Pompeo is deftly managing a myriad of hot button global issues these days. From the China roots of the coronavirus pandemic to the defense and promotion of religious freedom around the world, the former four-term Kansas representative has his hands very full.
Mr. Pompeo shared with us that the administration is determined to get to the bottom of the origin of the deadly virus. Yes, there is pushback and some debate, but America will lead and do what is right, because that’s who we are as a nation.
You’ll hear him say that despite pockets of darkness around the world, the Lord is at work. Yes, some people are up to no good, but every human being has dignity.
Isn’t it refreshing to hear the Secretary of State invoke God’s sovereignty and place in the world?
As a believer in Jesus Christ, it’s Mr. Pompeo’s faith that enables him to maintain such a good attitude given the many trials around the globe.
Given all the disinformation being peddled from communist and dictatorial regimes, how do we talk about truth to nations awash in lies?
You’ll have to tune in to hear the secretary’s answer.
Secretary Pompeo says he is a happy warrior. He tries to walk as someone who is working with joy. He knows his responsibility to the Constitution and the American people. When he looks at the problems of the world, he knows he can’t fix them all tomorrow, but the team at the State Department and all of the leaders in our government work every day to move the ball forward.
We also talked about religious freedom, not just here in the United States but also abroad. We have a long way to go, but he is confident we can strengthen these foundational principles of democracy.
Please tune in and let me know what you think.
