I’m writing this from my “home base” in Colorado Springs, Colo., but a couple of weeks ago I was in Israel, walking where Jesus walked, and learning from acclaimed teacher and Focus friend Ray Vander Laan.
It was an incredible experience I’ll always remember. Going to the Promised Land is adventure enough, but listening to Ray make biblical stories come alive took the trip to another level. Ray is an amazing communicator who has a unique grasp of Scripture. He has a real gift in combining ancient history with modern application.
It’s no wonder that the “That the World May Know” film series capturing Ray’s Bible teachings have done so well since they debuted 20 years ago.
And now you have the opportunity to listen to hear Ray speak in person at one of three complimentary events hosted by Focus on the Family.
“An Evening with Ray Vander Laan” celebrates the release of “The Mission of Jesus,” the newest volume in the “That the World May Know” series. This volume outlines how Jesus prepared His disciples to go out into the world to spread His gospel and display His love, despite the rising persecution from the Roman Empire.
Taking place in three cities – Lincoln, Nebraska on Oct. 6; Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Oct. 11; and Roswell, New Mexico on Oct. 27 – participants will also be able to watch an exclusive episode from the new volume.
I can’t recommend these events enough. If you go, expect to be challenged in the very best way possible as Ray helps you discover your mission and your role in God’s kingdom. After all, Jesus’ instruction wasn’t limited to His disciples. As Christians, we’re called to be part of His plan to reach a world in need, and to love even those we disagree with.
This video shares a bit more about our event:
