Some couples get stuck on the way to marriage. A groom named Brandon Valdez got stuck on the way to his wedding – literally – inside a broken elevator!
To honor the tradition of not seeing one another before the ceremony, Brandon and his bride-to-be, Misty, spent the night in separate hotels. In the morning, Brandon and his groomsmen boarded an elevator for the first floor. Somewhere between floors two and three the elevator jolted to a stop. One of the groomsmen pressed the alarm button, and the front desk said they would be right up to help. Sometime later when help still hadn’t arrived, another groomsman called the fire department. Another thirty minutes later, Brandon was freed, safe but nearly two hours late for his own wedding.
If you are about to walk down the aisle, consider challenges along the way good practice for your future together as a couple … because marriage doesn’t always go as planned, either. Relationships are a journey into the unknown, filled with twists and turns you’ll never see coming. Successful couples stay committed to each other but flexible in their approach to life’s circumstances.
I hope your special day goes off without a hitch. But even if it doesn’t, turn your challenges into success for the journey ahead. Strong couples keep their relationship a priority and stick together even when life doesn’t go as planned.
