As you know, the much-welcomed reversal of Roe last June has set in motion an avalanche of pro-abortion legislation and ballot initiatives, including in our home state of Colorado.

I had an opportunity to weigh-in on a particularly grievous series of bills passed in the Centennial State and signed by our governor. My original article appeared in Newsweek last week. I’ve updated the piece to reflect the fast-moving nature of the subject matter.

Last month, pro-abortion zealots in Colorado introduced a series of three bills, all of which have been signed by Governor Jared Polis.

The abortion industry promotes medical abortions as “safer” and “easier” than surgical abortions because there’s no need for a surgeon, medical staff, or specialized equipment. The actual appeal, however, is that medical options make abortions more common and cheaper, thus creating a higher profit-margin.

It’s estimated that 42% of early abortions (up to eight weeks) and 30% of all abortions are the result of the medication Mifepristone. Also known as RU486, this medication convinces a woman’s body that she’s not pregnant, breaking down the connections between mother and embryo.

It’s been just over two months since the Supreme Court’s 5-4 vote reversing Roe and sending the issue of abortion back to the states – and propelling abortion activists into full-fledged panic mode.

Earlier this summer, Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) introduced a bill that’s ironically called the “Stop Anti-Abortion Disinformation Act” – legislation that’s supposedly going to address false advertising from pregnancy resource centers. The bill calls on the Federal Trade Commission to issue rules “prohibiting disinformation in the advertising of abortion services.”

Only these clinics don’t deceive women at all – they simply educate, inform, and ensure that mothers are aware of the full range of assistance that exists for them and their baby. 

If there’s any “deception” it comes from the abortion lobby and abortion mills like Planned Parenthood.

It goes without saying that the Supreme Court’s dramatic reversal of Roe last week catapults this year’s slate of cases into the historic tier of terms. No issue is more fundamental than life.

But with most of the attention centered on Dobbs and Roe, it’s easy to overlook some other significant and consequential cases that the High Court addressed concerning religious freedom.

When the Supreme Court affirmed Coach Kennedy’s right to pray silently on the 50-yard line, they actually empowered and encouraged all praying Americans.

Ominous signs of the pending Supreme Court decision on the Dobbs’ Mississippi abortion case are everywhere.

Earlier today, a man was arrested in Maryland near the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. He was carrying a gun and proclaimed his desire/intent to kill the jurist.

I was in Washington, D.C., a few weeks ago, and increased police presence, along with eight-foot metal fencing around the High Court, make clear that officials are bracing for the potential of a violent reaction to the decision.
