Is your heart as heavy as mine over the news surrounding abortion in recent weeks? It’s only been a few weeks since New York passed its barbaric abortion law legalizing murder for any reason at any point during a pregnancy, and Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and Delegate Kathy Tran argued that abortion should be legal right up to birth – or even beyond. Now, lawmakers in New Mexico and Vermont are looking to expand late-term abortions.
Fortunately, there are courageous lawmakers out there who are willing to defend life. On Friday, I visited with U.S. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) in his office at the United States Capitol to talk about his efforts to protect preborn babies and his thoughts on where we’re headed as a nation. You can listen to our conversation here.
In the midst of the darkness evident around us, the pro-life community is responding with courage, conviction and commitment.
The Holy Spirit is moving in a direction that I believe will result in a greater culture of life in America, and we’re committed to being faithful to His call.
We want you to join us.
On Monday’s broadcast, I announced the largest pro-life effort in Focus on the Family’s history. It’s called “See Life Clearly”, and you can find out more at focusonthefamily.com/prolife
We’re asking all pro-life Americans to do three things:
1) Sign “A Declaration for Life” and add your name to what we hope will be millions of others.
We plan to present this manifesto with signatures to the White House and Congress, demonstrating that pro-life voters are committed to push back against the culture of death and to protect the most vulnerable among us.
2) Travel to New York City on Saturday, May 4, and help us fill Times Square with pro-life Americans for an event called “Alive from New York.”
I’m really excited about this – the event will feature live music, compelling and inspirational speakers and best of all, live 4-D ultrasounds broadcast on a massive digital marquee in Times Square, powerfully showing the world that a baby inside the womb is fully human and should be given the chance to be born.
3) Help us save a baby’s life for $60 through Option Ultrasound.
This initiative has helped save an estimated 425,000 babies in the past 15 years, and we’re aiming to save a million by 2025.
Would you be in prayer, as well? As we’ve sought the Lord, we’re convinced the Holy Spirit is on the move in this area. You can bet there will be opposition, but we’re committed to standing strong as we encourage all Americans to “See Life Clearly.”
Will you join us?
