Summer is in full swing. Like many of you, my family has already enjoyed some vacation time together. It’s been wonderful to take a break from our daily responsibilities, to relax, and to connect with one another.
We’ve traveled a little, and we’ve laughed a lot. It’s been good for the soul.
In keeping with that spirit, for today’s broadcast, we thought we’d take a break from some of the serious issues we’ve talked about over the past several weeks to enjoy a little humor from our friend, comedian Ken Davis.
Ken grew up on a farm, so he knew sheep. Which is why, as you’ll hear, he wasn’t particularly thrilled to learn God’s Word compared him to one. He wanted to be thought of as something more aggressive, powerful, and in charge – like a lion, or maybe a German Shepherd.
But the more Ken understood human nature the more he realized all the quirky traits he saw in sheep really did define him, and us, more than he cared to admit.
As usual, woven throughout Ken’s humor is a thread of truth that will resonate with you. In this case, once your laughter subsides, you’ll find yourself reflecting on the profound need we sheep have for the Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to tune in for today’s program, “The Sheep-Like Qualities of a Disciple.” It’ll be like a mini vacation through your radio.
Listen on your local radio station. If you miss it there, find it online or via our free, downloadable mobile phone app.
