What Do You Think About The Hunger Games?

hungergamesposter1.jpgThe family and I are on spring break this week, but I’m curious for your feedback surrounding Suzanne Collins’ bestseller-turned-Hollywood-thriller The Hunger Games.

Have you gone to see it?

Would you permit your son or daughter to watch if they wanted to?

Why – or why not?

Given the young age of our boys, we haven’t paid attention to the book or the movie. Their minds are focused on much tamer fare, including Legos and other books and games. In fact, I resonate with a colleague of mine who said he thought The Hunger Games was a reality show on Food Network!

Interest in the movie is determined, at least in part, by your season of life. Thankfully, our Plugged In reviewers, Bob Hoose and Steve Isaac, have served up their usual thorough analysis. I’d invite you to click here to read it, as well as access a myriad of other film reviews, including the pro-life hit, October Baby.  Bob Waliszewski and his team do such a great job helping parents navigate the choppy and uncharted waters of the entertainment culture.

Somebody once said that Hollywood is a door leading to a thousand other doors – not all of which are worth opening.

But when it comes to The Hunger Games, is that a door worth walking through? What do you make of all the hype and hoopla surrounding this film?
