Many weddings take place in the month of June. It’s a happy time of starry-eyed couples pledging each other a lifetime of love and commitment. It’s a beautiful phase of a romantic relationship – one full of promise and hope.
And marriage is great. There is great joy in living life with your best friend. But as husbands and wives know, there are also challenges to being married. Sometimes that shiny and new marriage gets some dings and dents as the years go by.
What true romance looks like
That’s the place Derek and Lacie were in. After 14 years of marriage, they were in a rough patch.
And that’s when Lacie had an idea: to show her husband, in a big way, that she’d do it all over again. What this wife ended up doing left her husband teary-eyed, shocked and “very, very happy.”
I’ll let the video below speak for itself, but before I go I do want to include how Lacie summed up a lifelong marriage.
“Happily ever after is embracing the messy times and saying, ‘I still love you in the middle of all this… we’re in this for the long haul.’”
I think she’s right.
