“I gave him everything I could physically and emotionally just to keep him around. He was a need, a necessity.”
Author Danna Gresh says that comment from a college-age young woman is reflective of the curse described in Genesis 3:16: “Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
According to Dannah, the curse is like a “violent craving” for many women. It’s not that they want a man, they feel like they need one. It’s the longing that makes many Christian women date a guy who doesn’t love the Lord.
The desire for a husband is a beautiful gift from God … if you pursue a husband with some basic understanding of God’s design for marriage.
To have a marriage that’s deep, rich, and meaningful enough to be sustained over a lifetime, you must construct your foundation from values rooted in God’s character. Superficial interests have a shelf life. When they’re gone, so is your marriage, unless there’s something deeper.
Our radio broadcast today, “Getting Lost in God’s Love,” is designed to offer single women encouragement and practical help for finding true love and for married women to build a stronger relationship with their husbands by allowing God to direct their steps.
Dannah will be our guest. She’s helped thousands of families live out their faith and hold firm to moral standards in today’s over-sexualized culture. We recorded this program a few years ago, but her message is as relevant now as ever. We’ll be discussing Dannah’s book, “Get Lost: Your Guide to Finding True Love.” You can hear the program on your local radio station, online, or on our free phone app.
