On our Focus on the Family Broadcast “My Search for a Father’s Love,” we’re sharing a conversation I had with Lynsi Snyder, the owner and president of the In-N-Out Burger chain of restaurants located in the western part of the United States.
Although her family’s wealth made life appear like a fairy tale to outsiders, Lynsi has had a difficult and, at times, heart-breaking journey. Her father died when she was 17 years old, which led her life into a downward spiral. She struggled with drug and alcohol abuse and pursued relationship after relationship in search of love. Unresolved grief kept her from trusting God or discovering her identity in Him.
For the next decade, Lynsi’s life was a rollercoaster – feelings of isolation from God and from her family all while seeking God’s transformational love. At the lowest point in her life, when she felt more alone and broken than ever, Lynsi had a profound encounter with the Lord and discovered that God often does His greatest work in our biggest messes.
I believe Lynsi’s story will help you draw closer to God if He feels distant from your pain. Like, Lynsi, you can know that God is always there. Nothing is too big for Him to forgive or too painful to heal. He can bring restoration to your life despite your brokenness.
Hear my conversation with Lynsi and her husband Sean Ellingson on your local radio station, online, on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, or take us with you on our free phone app. She shares her remarkable testimony of chasing one bad relationship after another until she finally opened herself to God’s overwhelming love. It’s a powerful story of restoration.
