Game-Changing Marriage and Money Insights

A couple going over their finances

Money is one of the biggest sources of conflict in marriage.

There are two important reasons husbands and wives struggle in this area. The first is that a lot of couples assume that the solution to their financial problems is more money. It’s not. Extra income may ease a few immediate financial pressures, but it’s usually not a long-term solution.

Generally, the more money a couple earns, the more likely they are to elevate their standard of living and, therefore, their spending.

Andrew Luck’s Retirement Decision Has a Hidden Message (Even for Non-Athletes)

Are you a football fan?

I had the privilege earlier this week to contribute an essay to Fox News on the surprise retirement announcement from Indianapolis Colt’s franchise quarterback, Andrew Luck.

Here is in part what I wrote:

I suspect attitudes about money and happiness are at the heart of much of the public’s incredulity surrounding Luck’s retirement. While the NFL star has already earned nearly $100 million over the past seven seasons, he potentially stood to receive hundreds of millions more over the course of his remaining career.

Equipping Your Kids to Handle Money

Do you teach your children to clean their rooms?

How about to do their homework, to brush their teeth, or to match their clothes?

How about to give money, save money, and to spend it properly?

If you said no to that last one, it might be because you see your child’s allowance as simply an economic transfer instead of as a chance to develop their character.

Our guest for the next couple of programs is the money guru himself, radio host and bestselling author, Dave Ramsey.
