A raunchy website that facilitates extramarital affairs has announced it will award one-million dollars to any person who can prove that New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has engaged in a sexual relationship.
Since the onset of his success at the University of Florida to his ascent in the NFL, Tim Tebow has endured a litany of personal attacks. He’s been mocked for attempting to live up to the tenets of his Christian faith, including his willingness to publicly evangelize and pledge celibacy prior to getting married.

Steffan Tubbs is a morning radio host on Denver’s leading talk station, KOA-AM. I enjoy listening to him along with his co-host, April Zesbaugh. They’re good at what they do.
Steffan has a tremendous appreciation for veterans, especially those who served in World War II. In fact, he’s the spokesman for The Greatest Generation Foundation, an organization dedicated to celebrating military personnel from that era. Steffan has accompanied many aging soldiers to former battlefields, including Pearl Harbor and Iwo Jima.

Today’s Focus on the Family radio program features our late friend and lion of the Christian faith, Chuck Colson. I’d invite you to listen to the broadcast by clicking here.
In the meantime, tributes from friends of Chuck’s are pouring in. He was such a beloved man and a gentleman of the highest order. While many news articles over the weekend seemed to concentrate on Chuck’s White House years, those of us who really knew him know that it was the second half of his life serving the Lord through Prison Fellowship that truly defined him.

America has lost a gentleman and statesman of the highest integrity and character. I’ve lost a dear friend and mentor who, most importantly, modeled for me how to stand for God’s Truth with Christ’s heart. Chuck was an endlessly selfless man, whose love for and ministry to those in prison made him one of the great modern-day lions of the faith.
Chuck was a great example to me and millions of others for his willingness to share so openly about his own faults and the besetting sins of his life.

If you have a moment today, please pray for the safety and wisdom of those high school and college students who will be participating in this year’s Day of Dialogue. The ultimate goal is for Jesus to be glorified.
Citizenlink’s Karla Dial reports…
Students Enter Dialogue This Week
Thousands of high school and college students in approximately 40 states are preparing to engage their peers in discussions about sexuality and God’s love today, as part of the annual Focus on the Family-sponsored Day of Dialogue.

This past Friday’s Wall Street Journal highlighted a new hiring practice for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. When evaluating the fit of a free agent, team officials don’t just spend time with the player. They also invite and interview the particular player’s wife, assuming he’s married. As explained in the Journal:
Shahid Khan, the Jaguars’ new owner, who made his fortune in auto-parts manufacturing, said he had the idea because he tries to meet all of the spouses of his employees.

Exceptions to the norm naturally surprise us, like when we hear about a marriage of 40-plus years ending in divorce.
Do you know somebody who for no good reason has decided to walk away from their marriage of longstanding?
According to the research, approximately 4% of marriages that make it to 40 years will eventually end in divorce.
What would cause somebody to give up on their spouse after so many years together?
I think a lot of it is caused by the modern nature of marriage.

My friend Chuck Colson, who is making progress following surgery but still in ICU, published a provocative guest column a few weeks ago on his Breakpoint website. It was penned by a gentleman named Rolley Haggard. The writer made a bold pronouncement.
Here is a condensed version of what he wrote:
If every Sunday, in every pulpit, in every evangelical church across America, ministers would devote one minute—ONE MINUTE—to decrying the evil of abortion on demand, such universal solidarity within the ranks of Christian leadership would accomplish two things, maybe three.

When an editor would have come in handy:
The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals.
The sermon this morning: Jesus Walks on the Water.
The sermon tonight: Searching for Jesus.
Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.
Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say ‘Hell’ to someone who doesn’t care much about you.
